We will be flying into Manchester, NH & renting a car to drive to Portland, ME.

Anyone have any tips on places to see or where to eat ?

Have a place to stay in Portland, but not in NH.

Walk down the street and eat seafood.

What street? What restaurant?

It doesn't matter. It's all good.

Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a set of earphones.

I wish I could offer some suggestions, but cannot think of anything right now. Portland has some good restaurants and art museums. You may want to take a ferry ride on the waterfront also.

Ha, ok thanks ! I'm from Kansas so the only place we can go for seafood is Chinese buffet or Red Lobster. We went to Coco Beach, FL in June & had crab legs. So, I'll put that on the list.

Our other choices with Southwest Air was to fly into Boston Or Providence, RI. I chose Manchester since it is less than 2 hours from Portland.

Riding Amtrak might have been an option.

To fly from Wichita on Delta would have been an all day trip. We would leave at 8 am & arrive in Atlanta then sit for over 6 hours until our flight left for Portland via another city.

Have to drive to Tulsa or OKC for Southwest Air though.

I'll really only have 2.5 days to do stuff. Dh has meetings all day Monday & Tues. morn.

Still need to google Manchester to see possible hotels & restaurants. Plus check out the weather.

I have a Maine tourism book.

Ferry ride might work for Sunday. Art museums aren't really something I plan on.

There are nicer places in Maine than Portland IMHO. Its good that you have a tourism book to look at.

I'm not sure why they chose there. Dh is on a national municipal electric board. Use to the towns where the meetings were held needed to have municipal electricity.

Next Oct. is Vegas. One of the board members is from there. I've never been.

I'll have to ask when are they coming to Wichita ?

Portland is the largest city in ME, and the only city one can think of while up there. The rest are pretty much towns instead.

I do not know most of them, but they are ok. Remember that there is an art museum in Portland.
