Where do animals and pets go after they die? I know God put them here for a reason and I was wondering if we see animals and pets in heaven? I heard a theroy that God will provide us things that make us happy? I know Zoologist and vets love animals and love to take care of animals. Taking care of these animals makes people happy so will God have animals to make them happy? I know that animals don't have souls so they can't give there souls to God. God does say that the rocks will praise him when no one else will and rocks don't have a soul. so let me know what you think will happen to animals when they die? Or let me know if there is a post already discussing this or any articles that disucss this topic. Thanks!

Now, now, Jack. Cats are good pets! Dogs, however, are another issue... A good resource on heaven is Heaven, written by Randy Alcorn. Alcorn lists all the verse pertaning to heaven and expounds on them in a very readable way. Some of what he writes is speculative, and he admits that. As to that Triceratops ride, I don't care what color it is as long as it will let me have a ride, too!

I've always understood that animals are different from humans in that they don't have a soul, and they have no promise of resurrection, so they can't end up in heaven because they will have neither body nor soul... so what would go to heaven?

God says in His word..."the lion will lay down with the lamb..." I believe He uses that in the spiritual illustration. It is true animals don't have a soul. They do have hearts and almost all other features as humans. God, I believe, gave us animals on this earth...so that those who are lonely and don't have someone to care ...have a cat, dog, parakeet. They make us smile most of the time. I've always had dogs. They were there and then, they weren't. I'm glad I had them... In Heaven...a wondrous and awesomely beautiful place--whether "a new heaven and a new earth"...all the same, there will be Love, Joy, and Peace ..which are the "fruit". As believers, when we walk in those fruits...it is a mighty and partial foretaste of what Heaven is going to be like! There will be a glorious Reunion of all the people we've known here..God willing. Jesus will be in Sterling attendance--& when we see Him...the Joy will flood your heart, spirit and produce a smile that is out of this world! Love..Love.. Love...Joy...Joy...Peace...Peace.... "Faith, Hope and Love...these three..but the greatest of these is Love." Corinthians 13:13

For all the agony, pain, and suffering they go through more than any human here on earth.....they BETTER have a place in heaven.

I have always wondered about this subject. Through the years animals have given me comfort. My pic to the left is my little dog Bruzer, It would be nice to have him walk thru eternity with me!

Oh, I think animals will be in heaven. The Tree of Life is already going to be there, for sure. And if a plant (even a very special plant) can make it to the new universe God will create, then why can't animals. I know how a lot of you feel. Animals are one of my passions, and among the most ingenious works of art which our Creator blessed us with, so at least for me, it's almost impossible to see why heaven would be a place of abundance and complete joy for everyone, yet animals don't get to join in on the fun. In fact, wasn't there a verse in revelation which says that every animal will at one point join together to praise God? If animals are indeed in heaven, I want my mansion right next to the Jurassic Park wing! And a T-rex to follow me around wherever I go! Matter of fact, I hope God creates entirely new animals (new heavens and earth, after all), because I'd actually like a couple of dragons, too. Yeah, go ahead and tell me that "dragons are satanic." Well, a certain red dragon with seven heads would fall into the category of "evil," but far as I'm concerned, dragons in general are awesome! Come on, who doesn't want a fire-breathing dinosaur with wings?

Revelation speaks of Christ and the saints coming from Heaven on white horses. (I've often wondered: do we get to keep the horse? I love horses!)

Elizabeth, did you lose a pet? I know I miss my dogs, and who knows how much longer my 18-year-old cats will be here. I don't think our pets go to heaven the same way we can, just opinion, as the Bible clearly says there is something special about us to God. That said though, I tend to think of the next life in terms of MORE, not LESS. More life, more joy, more abundance. And a God who can hold us accountable for our every act and thought is a God who forgets NOTHING by accident; not a fallen sparrow, not our pets. All it would take is a word from our Lord, who will live among us, for a beloved pet to live again. Would He be willing? Will He love us this much? All we can do is ask.
